Upcoming Events to Look Forward to in Carmel-by-the-Sea
If you've been looking for a reason to plan your next Carmel-by-the-Sea getaway, there are plenty of them coming up.
From art and wine in October to the holiday season and one of the biggest golf events of the year, Carmel has a busy few months ahead. Here are a few events we're already looking forward to at Horizon Inn & Ocean View Lodge.
Carmel is known for its art galleries, and Meet the Makers is a great way to experience them all in one evening.
The annual Art & Wine Walk takes you through downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, where you can meet local artists, tour participating galleries, taste Monterey County wines and enjoy food along the way. Look for the blue lanterns outside participating galleries as you make your way around town.
This year's event takes place Saturday, October 10, from 4–7 PM and features artists, wineries, food vendors and live music throughout the evening.
And the best part? Carmel is a pretty great place to spend the night after you've spent the afternoon walking, drinking wine and looking at art.
Once October passes, it doesn't take long for Carmel to start feeling like Christmas.
Ocean Avenue and the rest of the village become even more magical during the holiday season, with decorations, lights and plenty of reasons to come into town for a winter getaway.
One of the big community traditions is Holidays in the Park, happening December 4, 2026. The celebration includes the annual holiday tree and menorah lighting at Devendorf Park, Santa's arrival, live music and holiday activities around Carmel Plaza.
And that's just the beginning of the holiday season in Carmel. It's the perfect time to grab a warm drink, walk Ocean Avenue, do a little holiday shopping and enjoy Carmel at a slower pace.
Golf fans, this one is already on the calendar.
The 2027 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am returns February 1–7, bringing some of the world's best golfers back to the Monterey Peninsula. The tournament will feature 80 professionals and 80 amateurs, with tournament rounds taking place at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill.
Tournament play begins Thursday, February 4, with the first two rounds being played at both Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill. The weekend rounds move to Pebble Beach Golf Links.
If you're planning on attending, this is one of those weekends where planning ahead makes sense. Tickets for the 2027 tournament go on sale October 29, 2026.
And when the golf day is over, Carmel-by-the-Sea is just minutes away. Come back to town, grab dinner, walk around the village and enjoy the rest of your evening.
These are just a few of the events we're looking forward to over the next several months. Carmel's calendar is always changing, with art walks, food and wine events, holiday celebrations, live entertainment and plenty more throughout the year.
So whether you're coming for the art, the holidays, the golf — or you simply need an excuse to get away for a few days — Carmel-by-the-Sea is ready for you.
And when you get here, we'll have the room, the parking spot and a breakfast basket waiting for you at Horizon Inn & Ocean View Lodge.
We'll see you in Carmel.
